Service status and logs

This is a separate top-level section of the Admin UI containing runtime information of the platform pertaining to the organisation.

System logs 

System log shows the service log events related to the organisation. Log screen contains the following command to assist with the viewing of the log:

  • Last number of lines – limits the size of the log window.
  • Find – allows full text search of the log file. 
  • Log level filtering – filters the log file based on the reported category:
    • Info
    • Error
    • Debug
    • Warining
  • Modules filtering – filters the log file based on the reporting module: 
    • Authentication
    • Repository setup
    • Organisation setup
    • Search
    • Ingestion
    • Batch upload
    • Favourites
    • User settings
    • Notifications
    • System status and log
  • Refresh
  • Enable auto refresh
  • Download
  • Settings
    • Log purge settings – sets log purge parameters (size, age)
    • Log level – sets the level of logging – all error levels below one set will be kept in the log file.
    • Enable email logs – captures outbound email traffic activity in the log file – used when we troubleshoot email notifications from the platform.

Volume and queue status 

Volume status shows the status of volumes, usage and their backup status. 

Document class usage shows the number of files and space used by classes defined on the system. 

Write queue status shows the operational status and statistics of the Storage write queue. 

Batch import status

This panel shows the batch import activity for the organisation:

  • Definition and import filename
  • Stage
  • Submitted by and on
  • Size
  • Progress. 

It also allows manual deletion of the job in progress. 

User status 

Provides the following key statistics: 

  • User count per role (active and overall).
  • Storage used by user – Info button in the last column shows the storage use history for selected users and time window.
  • Logged in users (currently) – Info button in the last column shows login parameters (IP address,  browser, login time) and also allows forced disconnection of user session.
  • List of failed and timed-out tasks per user – Also provides date and time, module, and error information.
  • User login history – Shows login statistics for system users (number and date/time of successful and failed logins). Info button in the last column shows the login history of a selected user over a selected time window. 

Email logs 

Lists outbound messages from the system showing sender and recipient, subject, timestamp and status. 

Test button allows sending of a test message, typically used to test or troubleshoot the organisation’s email configuration. 

Deleted documents log 

Shows the list of documents permanently deleted from the system. 

Dashboard 

Provides charts showing the key system parameters at the glance. 

For more information, users can click on “View more” link in the respective widget to go to the appropriate status screen: 

  • Timeout > User settings/Failed tasks 
  • Users > Logged in users 
  • Volumes > Volume and queue status/Volume status 
  • Batch Process > Batch import process 

In addition, the Service status widget shows the status of the platform’s key engines.
